At the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his wish for the Vietnamese community in Ireland continue to uphold their solidarity, preserve national characters, help each other and respect the law of their country of residence and to integrate into the local community as much as possible to further develop their strength and value to the community.

He also affirmed that the Vietnamese representative agencies would make all efforts to help the community, especially in protecting their legal rights and interests when appropriate.

At the meeting, the head of the Vietnamese community said that in the early 1970s, there were only more than 200 Vietnamese in Ireland. So far, the figure is about 4,000. Vietnamese people there mainly earn living by opening restaurants. They have a stable life with the following generation becoming doctors and engineers

During the working visit to Ireland, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in London guided the overseas Vietnamese in procedures relating to citizen protection and visa-free status.

In addition, the latest Vietnamese teaching materials were quickly handed over to the communities in their efforts to preserve the native language for generations born and brought up in Ireland./.
