Vietnamese people spend US$3.1 billion on imported cars in 2019

According to the General Department of Customs, in December 2019, Vietnam's total import-export value of goods was estimated at US$ 44.6 billion, up 1.1% over the previous month; in which total export value is about US$21.8 billion, down by 4.4% and total import value is about US$22.8 billion, up by 6.8%.
By the end of 2019, Vietnam's total import and export value of goods is expected to reach nearly US$ 517 billion, up 7.6% over the same period in 2018; in which, total export value is about US$263.45 billion, up by 8.1% and total import value is about US$253.51 billion, up by 7%.
Vietnam's trade balance of goods in December 2019 was estimated at a deficit of US$ 1 billion. So, in 2019, the whole country has a trade surplus of US$ 9.94 billion.
In particular, in December, Vietnam imported 8000 completely-built-up cars, worth US$ 140 million.
Estimated that by the end of December 2019, the country will import 142,000 units, worth US$ 3.1 billion, a rise 71% in volume and 69.4% in value over the same period last year.
