Vietnamese Products Steal The Show at 2024 Foodservice Australia
Vietnamese products are being showcased at Foodservice Australia 2024 – the leading food industry event being held in Sydney, VNA reported.
They include dried vermicelli and noodle, cashew nuts, coffee, pepper, dried nuts, spices, chili sauce, soy sauce, nutritional powder, cordyceps, black garlic, and herbal teas.

This is an activity to support Hanoi businesses to display and introduce their goods and services, promote trade and increase the presence of Hanoi and Vietnamese brands and products in Australia, thus increasing opportunities to bring agricultural products, food, and OCOP (one commune one product) products to distribution channels in this market.
Foodservice Australia kicked off this week at the International Convention Centre Sydney, where it is running from May 19 to 21 and featuring over 350 exhibitors and special events.
Nguyen Phu Hoa, head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, said that through practical trade promotion activities, Vietnamese agricultural products have increased its presence in Australia in recent times. In April alone, the volume of Vietnamese products available in the country increased by nearly 80% compared to the same period last year, with some posting outstanding growth such as coffee (nearly 300%), and cashew nuts (42%).
Hoa added that in the coming time, the trade office will focus on promoting the consumption of lychees, longans, and green mangoes and prepare a plan to welcome fresh Vietnamese grapefruit to Australia. Also this year, Vietnam's key industrial products will continue to be promoted in Australia.

Visiting the fair, Khalida Tkriti was impressed with Vietnam's booths, from the quality of organic products to the diversity and richness of products.
Tkriti said that these are Vietnam's strong products. She plans to continue to learn and use the products to introduce to friends and relatives if appropriate.
Lissa, a resident of Sydney, also seemed interested and passionate about the products displayed at the "Hanoi-Vietnam" pavilion, especially the types of vermicelli, pho, and dried vermicelli. She said she really likes Vietnamese instant pho, because of its delicious, rich, and attractive flavor. Moreover, for her, this is an extremely convenient and easy-to-cook dish when she's busy.
On the sidelines of the fair, Hanoi businesses also attended forums, conferences, and seminars, getting updated on international branding ways to promote products, and current food and beverage trends in Australia and around the world.
A conference on trade and investment promotion between Hanoi and Australian enterprises was also held on May 18.
Talking to VNA reporters in Sydney on the sidelines of the event, Nguyen Van Chi - Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Hanoi New Rural Construction Program Coordination, said the products being promoted this time has overcome the technical barriers of difficult countries in Europe and many other regions. Therefore, he expressed hope that businesses in Hanoi city can conquer Australian distributors so that their products will soon be available in the market of this Oceania country.
As the owner of Orange, a large supermarket chain in Australia, Yangu shows great interest in Vietnamese products. He assessed that Vietnamese products are quite good quality and convenient, especially vermicelli, glass noodles, and dry pho products.
He believes that Vietnamese products have a lot of potential to reach the Australian market because more and more students and Vietnamese people are coming to study and live here. Besides, more and more Australians are interested in food products from Asia, especially from Vietnam.
At the event, representatives of several Vietnamese and Australian firms signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on cooperation.
