Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Vietnam Meeting of Science Association and Director of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), states that the VSOP is held yearly. The event, organized by the Vietnam Meeting of Science Association and ICISE, aims to connect students and young researchers with a passion for Physics, providing them with opportunities to learn about and engage with the latest research methodologies in the field.

Founded in 1994, the school was designed to provide Vietnamese students with the opportunity to study and conduct research alongside international peers and eminent scientists, tailored to the subject matter of each course. This groundwork enables students to pursue scholarships for doctoral and postdoctoral research at global universities and premier research institutions, thereby bolstering the core physics research capabilities within Vietnam.

The VSOP30 school unites researchers globally, including Dr. Tzu-Chiang Yuan from the Taiwan Academy of Sciences in Taiwan-China, Dr. Nicholas Wardle from Imperial College London in the UK, Dr. Andreas Goudelis from LPC Clermont-Ferrand in France, Dr. Jean-Philippe Guillet from LAPTh Annecy in France, Dr. Eung Jin Chun from KIAS in Korea, and Dr. Celine Degrande from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium.

VSOP30 offers a comprehensive lecture series on both theoretical and experimental aspects of particle physics and dark matter. Alongside the foundational knowledge of quantum field theory and the Standard Model (SM), the lectures encompass theories beyond the SM, dark matter theories, experimental techniques for collision experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), as well as Monte Carlo methods and machine learning (ML) applications.

Specifically, students can access research topics conducted by their lecturers. Lectures are structured to bridge the gap between basic university-level knowledge and advanced concepts, with a focus on research methodology and the teaching of calculation and data analysis methods, ensuring practical application in all courses.

On that day, the Vietnam Meets Science Association and the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education inaugurated the 8th Vietnam School on Neutrinos (VSON8), attended by 32 scientists, researchers, and students from Japan, China, India, Italy, the UK, and Vietnam.

From July 16 to 26, students participating will gain insights into Particle Physics and Neutrino Physics, including the fundamental principles and advanced techniques for their detection. They will learn about current and future Neutrino projects, as well as the potential scientific breakthroughs these experiments may yield.

Furthermore, students acquire specialized skills such as conducting simulations of neutrino interactions, classifying data interactively using images from the Super-Kamiokande detector (which played a significant role in the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics), and operating, monitoring, and measuring with a straightforward cosmic ray measurement system developed by the Neutrino Physics research group at ICISE.

The Vietnamese School on Neutrinos, established in 2017 with assistance from prominent Japanese experts in Neutrino Physics, draws students from Europe, the United States, Japan, India, and Southeast Asian nations.

Armed with knowledge of Neutrinos from prior classes, numerous Vietnamese and international students have been able to further their research, obtain doctorates in Neutrino physics, and make significant contributions to the global scientific community.
