The EXPO 2020 Dubai is taking place in Dubai (UAE), which has become one of the world's highlights. In particular, in this first attendance, the Vietnam pavilion had a jubilant month of activities.

Vietnam leaves impact at EXPO 2020

During its attendance at the 7th World Exhibition, the Vietnam pavilion operated by the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, had an exciting month of activities. In the Opportunity theme area, Vietnam pavilion currently attracts thousands of visitors every day and is considered one of the "shining stars."

With an area of ​​more than 850 square meters, the Vietnam pavilion possesses a series of attractive highlights such as: exhibition style using environmentally friendly materials and many interactive activities with visitors.

Visiting the pavilion, visitors have the opportunity to try out traditional musical instruments such as K'long put, T'rung; witness the famous water puppet show in the world; learn about the costumes and customs of Vietnam's ethnic minorities through a collection of handmade dolls, or enjoy Vietnamese cuisine.

The pavilion has welcomed many VIP guests such as Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, UAE Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.

“The Vietnam pavilion has left a great impression on me. All staffs try their best with a smile on their faces, making us feel satisfied from the moment we walk in the door. Especially, the art program of Vietnam is extremely attractive. I will definitely come back here many more times,” said visitor Khaid Bin Amer from India.

The Vietnamese cultural quintessence introduced at the event received a warm welcome. In addition to the traditional music and water puppet shows every day, on the evening of October 12, for the first time, artist Lijiang brought the monochord to perform with the Middle Eastern traditional orchestra with male singer Aseel Abu Baker in Jalsat Music Night.

Vietnamese artists are also invited to participate in regular performances at the Arab Shaudi Exhibition Hall. This is also the largest exhibitor at EXPO 2020 and has attracted half a million visitors in October alone.

Attracting world media

Vietnam's presence at EXPO 2020 Dubai has been receiving a lot of attention from the world's media. According to statistics from the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, more than 100 international news sites have published news and photos about the Pavilion Opening Ceremony.

Kuwait News Agency exclusively interviewed Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Sky News Agency invites Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO Tran Nhat Hoang to participate in a morning news program, broadcast live to more than 50 million households in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO Tran Nhat Hoang gave an interview to Sky News Arabia, one of the TV channels with the highest viewership rate in the Middle East.

News agencies from South Africa, UAE, Sweden all recorded live at the Vietnam pavilion. In particular, in the report on new sustainable initiatives introduced at this year's EXPO, CNN spent a lot of time introducing two Vietnamese representatives, sports shoes made from coffee grounds and plastic waste, circular economy model in coffee production. The report is expected to be broadcast on CNN worldwide in December.

It is known that in the next 5 months, the pavilion will continue to promote Vietnamese culture, image and brand to millions of international visitors, and participate in joint events at EXPO 2020.

According to information from the organizers, in the first month of operation, EXPO 2020 Dubai welcomed more than 2.35 million visitors, of which 17% were international visitors with 185 different nationalities. For the first time in the history of World Exhibitions, 192 participating countries all have their own pavilion.

Up to now, more than 1,980 government leaders including ministers, presidents, prime ministers and heads of state have been present at the EXPO to attend the opening ceremony and speak at the event.
