Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga congratulated Mozambican Assembly President Esperança Bias on her ongoing official visit to Vietnam. She emphasized that Vietnam and Mozambique enjoyed a good traditional friendship. The two countries have many similarities in history, uniting and supporting each other in the struggle for national liberation and in national construction and development. The two countries established diplomatic relations on June 25, 1975, the day Mozambique declared its independence.
During an online conference on June 6, 2022, Vietnamese General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President of the Frelimo party and President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi affirmed the bilateral solidarity, friendship, and cooperation, which has been inherited, nurtured, and continuously developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
Vietnam values its relations with traditional friends, including Mozambique. Bias' official visit to Vietnam contributes to consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. It also enhances the cooperation between the assemblies of both countries towards a more effective and substantive relationship.

Nguyen Phuong Nga introduced the Mozambique delegation to the organizational structure and operation of VUFO. VUFO and the Vietnam-Africa Friendship and Cooperation Association have organized many activities and major events such as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mozambique (June 25, 1975 – June 25, 2015), and the establishment of the Mozambique Friends Club (August 2020).
The VUFO President hopes that Mozambican Assembly President Esperança Laurinda Francisco Nhiuane Bias and members of the Mozambican delegation would encourage agencies in Mozambique to boost the people-to-people friendship, contributing to the bilateral relations in general.

Esperança Laurinda Francisco Nhiuane Bias said that the visit of the Mozambique delegation to Vietnam aimed to further strengthen the longstanding friendly relationship between the two countries. She thanked the Vietnamese people for their help in the past time. "This is the support that only sincere and long-time friends give each other," emphasized Bias.
She also thanked Vietnam for its support for Mozambique's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the term 2023-2024.
She said that the cooperation agreement between the assemblies of the two countries signed during the talks between the two assembly leaders on the same day would create favorable conditions for cooperation between the two organizations in the coming time.
