VUFO Vice President Receives CTFK Representatives
Phan Anh Son, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organization Affairs (COMINGO) held a reception for the delegation of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free kids worldwide (CTFK) at VUFO headquarter in Hanoi r on July 18.

The CTFK delegation was led by Yolonda Chanterra Richardson, Executive Vice President of Global Programs. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Head of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) under VUFO, also presented.

Phan Anh Son thanked CTFK for its contributions over the past time. He talked about the orientations and priorities in cooperation and advocacy for foreign non-governmental aid in Vietnam in the current period and in the following years. He suggested that the organization continue to promote its strengths in community health care, closely following Vietnam's priorities and the socio-economic development situation of each locality so that its programs and projects become more relevant and effective.

Ylonda Chanterra Richardson, CTFK's Executive Vice President of Global Programs, thanked VUFO for its support in CTFK's activities in the past time and looked forward to continuing to work with VUFO on upcoming projects.

CTFK is an American NGO that has been licensed to operate in tobacco and child drowning prevention. The organization raises awareness and capacity to implement solutions on road traffic safety and community health care in 21 provinces and cities in Vietnam.

CTFK is implementing four programs/projects in Vietnam with outstanding activities such as research on smoking status in adults, and training on drowning prevention skills for 30,200 children aged 6-15, 900 teachers, and 4,000 parents across the country.
