Vietnam-US Relations: Strengthening Ties Through Cultural and People-to-People Exchange
	US President-elect Trump Affirms Importance of Economic Cooperation with Vietnam

The event was attended by Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Ngoc Hung; President of the Viet Nam-US Society Pham Quang Vinh; Vice Presidents of the Viet Nam-US Society Bui The Giang and Nguyen Hai Giang; former Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Tam Chien; members of VUSAC Hanoi; and alumni of US-based educational and exchange programs.

US delegates included US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper, Counselor for Public Affairs Mary Beth Polley, staff of the US Embassy in Vietnam, and American partners and friends.

In her opening remarks, President of VUSAC Hanoi Nguyen Thu Ha reflected on the club's decade-long journey. She highlighted its growth from just a handful of members at its founding on July 1, 2014, to over 200 members today. The club has established itself as a leading organization within the community of Vietnamese alumni of US academic programs.

VUSAC Hanoi President expressed gratitude for the leadership of VUFO and the Viet Nam-US Society, and the support from the US Embassy in Vietnam for the cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy initiatives organized by VUSAC Hanoi.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper acknowledged VUSAC Hanoi’s meaningful and effective contributions to fostering cultural bridges, enhancing mutual understanding, and promoting collaboration between the two countries.

He commended the club for its impactful initiatives, including the donation of 300,000 face masks to the American people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

President of the Viet Nam-US Society Pham Quang Vinh emphasized the club’s role in motivating alumni to engage in social initiatives. Looking ahead to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US in 2025, President Pham Quang Vinh affirmed the Society’s commitment to supporting VUSAC Hanoi in organizing activities that further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
