This is an important motivation, creating favorable conditions for Da Nang to make breakthroughs in development, aiming to become one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia by 2030. By 2045, the city aims to become a large, ecological, and smart urban area, and a center of startup and innovation.
The Vice Chairman thanked the support of US representative agencies in Vietnam and Da Nang in recent times; and hoped that the US Embassy in Vietnam and US functional agencies would continue to serve as a bridge, supporting the connection, and strengthening cooperative relationships between the city and US localities and enterprises in the coming time.
Simultaneously, he hoped the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs would continue to support projects and cooperation programs to enhance the capacity of city officials in the field of drug prevention and law enforcement.
For her part, Shelby Smith-Wilson stated that Da Nang is a beautiful and livable city in Vietnam, with a lot of potential for development in various fields for cooperation between the two sides.

According to her, in the coming time, the US Government wishes to continue to promote the good relationship between the two countries, especially to promote economic and trade cooperation. The US will support the Da Nang in activities to combat transnational crime, money laundering, terrorism, drugs, and law enforcement.
Currently, Da Nang has official cooperative relationships with three US cities, including Oakland, California; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Houston, Texas.
