Founded by three Vietnamese living in Australia, Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Dong, Nguyen Anh Vu and Le Ngoc Linh, Vietnam Centre is a vivid demonstration of young people's efforts to promote Vietnamese culture to the international community. Operating since 2017, Vietnam Center has achieved certain successes, from organizing a series of projects and cultural performances to launching books on Vietnamese culture. In 2020, the group published the book "Det nen trieu dai" (Weaving the dynasty) - the first bilingual book that outlines Vietnamese ancient costumes in the early Le Dynasty in Australia.

Le Ngoc Linh said: “When I was in Vietnam, I was not aware that the local culture was that important. When I go abroad, I feel the desire to go back to my roots. Witnessing the Korean and Chinese communities having meaningful festivals and cultural events, we came up with ideas to inspire a broader understanding of Vietnamese culture and history." Vietnam Centre members think that culture is a strength that helps bring the image of Vietnam closer to international friends. To introduce to foreigners and expatriates Vietnam as a beautiful and hospitable country, the group takes on the task of connecting researchers, authors and artists in Vietnam with overseas contacts to promote Vietnamese culture and people to the world.
Culture - Luggage of young people in the century of integration

As the world becomes more "flat" and young people have better opportunities to become global citizens, the role of culture and national identity is increasingly affirmed.
Participating in the "Scent of Vietnam" contest held by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Federation in Europe (VYSEF), Tran Quynh Huong, a Vietnamese student in Hungary said culture is the fulcrum to help her overcome shortfalls caused by cultural differences in a foreign land. That are the image of ao dai flying in the wind of Budapest, the feeling when foreigners recognize and want to take pictures with Vietnam's national costume. “I hope that Vietnamese women in Europe in particular and around the world, in general, will always cherish the traditional beauty of East Asians. Because if you understand and love that beauty, you can keep your Vietnamese identities among countless cultural features of the host countries", Quynh Huong said.
On the final night of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022, 1st runner-up Thao Nhi Le said when she was a child, the first words she learned were not German but Vietnamese. Born in Germany, Thao Nhi never forgot her roots as Vietnamese. “Today, I am confident and proud to say I am a Vina Women,” Nhi said at the contest finale.
Answering a behavioral question from Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska: "In the current integration context, many countries are at risk of losing their identity. Please share your opinion," Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong said: "We are in an era where cultures are constantly integrating to create a colorful picture. Yesterday I met a foreigner in the elevator, he said Xin chao, though he has only been in Vietnam for a month. Vietnamese people at home and abroad still celebrate traditional holidays, eat traditional foods, and wear traditional ao dai. We have done a great job in preserving our traditional cultural identity. I think young people should be proud of their country and bring those cultural values to wherever they go." Culture has become the fulcrum, pride, and baggage of young Vietnamese in the process of international integration.
