2,000 Dancers Gather in Hanoi to Join Int'l Dancing Contests

Following the success of the previous two seasons, the third Hanoi Stars Dance Festival will be held in July 2023. The event includes three major tournaments gathering more than 2000 athletes both nationally and internationally.

300 foreign dancers from 11 countries and territories worldwide have registered to take part in the Hanoi Stars Dance Festival 2023 scheduled to take place in the capital this July, heard a recent press conference.

This is a program for all ages with a passion for music and dance that showcases their talents and passions. At the same time, this event also creates an opportunity to exchange and learn from each other between amateur and professional dancers of all ages, across Vietnam as well as the international community.

Hanoi Stars Dance Festival aims to spread the spirit of joy and positivity, especially promoting confidence, and passion for music and dance, stimulating people to dare to assert themselves thereby creating positive energy for the community and society, said organizers ProG Academy.

Asia Training Camp from July 5 to July 7 helps 100 contestants train alongside international dance masters from the Republic of Korea (RoK), Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. This event aims to help contestants train with international masters in dance genres.

Dancesport, Zumba, and the Aerobic open championships were organised at Tay Ho District Gymnasium on July 7. This is a group competition event for sports and dance with 500 contestants from all over the country.

The third Hanoi Stars Open – Pro.G Cup Championship 2023 on July 7 - 9 at Tay Ho District Gymnasium attracts plenty of international contestants from countries such as the RoK, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Kyrgyzstan. This is an international sport dance tournament under the system of the World DanceSport Federation, sponsored by the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation and the Vietnam Dance Sports Council.

The event brings together a large number of contestants, with nearly 2,000 athletes expected to participate in the competition, including nearly 300 international athletes from the RoK, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan (China), Macao, and Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and different provinces of the host country Vietnam.

Hanoi Allstyle Jam Vol 3 on July 15 - 16 featuring Street Dance competition will witness the participation of both Vietnamese and Japanese dancers.

This is an open tournament with the participation of domestic and international dancers.

Sharing at the press conference, choreographer Nguyen Viet Thanh, leader of Big Toe group, said that the first two seasons of the Hanoi Stars Dance Festival event were held on a domestic scale. However, he wants Vietnamese dancers to have the opportunity to rub, learn and interact with international friends, this year he and the organisers decided to expand tournaments and invite international dancers.

About 16 famous dancers and choreographers from across the world are set to judge the contests.

Meanwhile, Chu Quynh Trang revealed that this dance event was held completely without a sponsor. The total cost for the project is more than VND 3 billion (USD 126.700), the Big Toe leader and his wife have taken care of this money themselves.
