Most students from kindergartens to high school levels across the country are scheduled to come back to schools this week. Only Hai Duong and Hai Phong have not made an official announcement of the return, VTC News reported.

As the Covid-19 situation is at ease, it is not needed to adjust this school year’s schedule. Nevertheless, the education sector still needs to prepare different scenarios to avoid being passive, said the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET).

Schools have rushed to implement epidemic preventive measures to ensure safety for teachers and students. Schools that have not permitted students to come back continue organizing online teaching.

Over the past two days, many schools in Hanoi disinfected areas before welcoming students back on March 2.

Nguyen Phu Cuong, Principal of Ly Thuong Kiet Secondary School (Long Bien District) said that the school has fully prepared soap, hand sanitizer, and face masks, etc.

All students will have their body temperatures checked before entering the class, he added.

Phuc Loi Primary School (also in Long Bien District) has complied with the Health Ministry’s 5K message especially wearing face masks and making health declarations.

Previously, Hanoi students started staying home on Feb. 1, about a week earlier than the expected beginning of the Tet break due to a new wave of Covid-19 sweeping nationwide. After the one-week holiday, they continued to study online.

Hai Duong remains the biggest Covid-19 hotspot in the latest outbreak that has so far infected 849 people in 13 cities and provinces. Of these, ten localities - Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, and HCMC - have recorded no Covid-19 cases in the last two weeks.

With the latest cases, the nation’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 2,448 with 1,875 recoveries and 35 deaths. The current active case count is 533.
