Agoda: Vietnam Is In Asia-Pacific’s Top 5 Destination During Lunar New Year
According to recent data from online travel agency Agoda, based on bookings made on its platform between January 1 and 15 for stays on February 9 or 10 for a minimum of two nights, tourists from various Asian countries are increasingly choosing Vietnam as their preferred destination during the upcoming Lunar New Year travel period, attracted by its stunning scenery, warm culture, and renowned cuisine.
The top 5 regional destinations alongside Vietnam are Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
As one of the largest holiday seasons in the region approaches, Vietnam is experiencing an influx of inbound travelers. South Koreans lead the way, followed by visitors from China, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), and Japan. This surge in visitors promises a bustling Tet season for Vietnam’s travel industry.
Vietnamese visitors are packing their bags for the annual break, with Da Lat proving to be this year’s top domestic destination. The hilltop retreat claimed top honors, ahead of seaside locales Nha Trang (second), Danang (third), and Phan Thiet (fifth). Ho Chi Minh City rounded out the top 5, placing fourth.

Ho Chi Minh City
During Tet holidays, there are many places that you can visit and things to enjoy in Ho Chi Minh City. You can pay a visit to Nguyen Hue Flower Street in District 1. This is where a special event is held every year to celebrate the Lunar New Year: Different kinds of flowers from many regions of the country are brought to Ho Chi Minh City and arranged into beautiful shapes.

Tao Dan Park also has a flower exhibition during the Tet holidays. Many flowers that win the competition are gathered here for viewers to enjoy. You can find many surprisingly beautiful flowers and enjoy the game shows and music concerts here too.
Many parks in Ho Chi Minh City like Dam Sen Park, and Suoi Tien Park are also great choices to spend your holidays. There are a lot of activities held in these parks during the holidays like the festivals where you can play many games and the music shows that happen every night.
Da Nang
During Tet, the Han River is adorned with a vibrant garden featuring colorful flowers and beautiful decorations. Take a stroll along Bach Dang Street for the best experience. Start at the Dragon Bridge and walk North along Bach Dang for the best experience. The two largest gardens on the river are located near the Dragon Bridge and near the Danang City Committee building.

An annual tradition of Ba Na Hills is a flower festival within the amusement park. Located in the mountains, this cool mountain resort features a selection of rides, games, and picnic areas, a perfect destination for families. During Tet, the annual flower festival makes this a must-see destination. Tours are available to Ba Na Hills and can be arranged through the concierge.
Things take a slower pace on streets during the Lunar New Year in Viet Nam. This is a perfect time to take advantage of the empty streets by visiting the ancient city of Hoi An, just south of Danang.
Nha Trang
Perched on a pristine stretch of the southern coast, Nha Trang is a playground for sunseekers. Days here are spent dining on delicious seafood, snorkeling around stunning islands, and partying on the sand after dark. Nha Trang lays claim to some of the country's finest luxury resorts and thrilling watersports. Despite the development boom, colorful fishing villages and serene riverside restaurants are just a stone's throw away.

Nha Trang's boasts a unique pair of wellness attractions: mud baths and hot springs. Hidden in the hills just north of the city are a handful of spa-like facilities, where you can sit in a healing pool of warm mud before relaxing in hot mineral water.
Ha Noi
A stroll around the Quang Ba Flower Market near West Lake is unforgettable the week before Tet. Shoppers bundled up against the chill buy the finest pink peach boughs they can afford to bring luck in the New Year. Lunar New Year’s Eve is best witnessed in the alleys of the Old Quarter, where hundreds of makeshift altars appear on the curbs, set with offerings of fruit and boiled chicken.

With a few days off, short trips are preferred for people in the capital to destinations near Hanoi, such as Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh, Sa Pa, Moc Chau, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, and Tuyen Quang.
