Algerian Arabic TV Channel Introduces Vietnamese Culture

The reportage made by Jeel Dz TV in February 2023 with the cooperation of the Embassy of Vietnam and the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation in Algeria was broadcast.

On the evening of February 19, Algeria's Arabic digital television channel Jeel Dz TV broadcast an hour-long reportage on the traditional friendship between Algeria and Vietnam, as well as introduced culture, landscapes, cuisine, tourism, customs and habits of Vietnam to the Algerian audience.

The reportage was made by Jeel Dz TV in mid-February 2023 with the cooperation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria and the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation in Algeria.

In the reportage, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinh shared about the similarities in the history of the struggle for national independence and the good traditional relationship between the two countries. He also emphasized the movement of studying Vietnamese traditional martial arts in Algeria which had been developing strongly and becoming a bright spot in bilateral relations. It was considered an effective cultural bridge between the people of the two countries.

The Ambassador affirmed that the traditional friendship from the history of the struggle for national independence was an invaluable asset of the two countries. He wished that through the program, Algerians would better understand Vietnamese culture as well as hospitable people in the country.

In addition, the staff of the Embassy introduced the unique features of Vietnam's traditional costumes, festivals, cuisine and tourism.

'Ao dai,' Dong Son bronze drum, and festivals such as Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival helped viewers understand the customs and life of Vietnamese people. At the end of the reportage, the Embassy staff introduced and guided viewers how to make spring rolls and filter coffee.

The reportage used many images of customs, landscapes and people of Vietnam. It was combined with meticulous and elaborate footage on the Embassy premises with the enthusiastic support of Vietnamese traditional martial arts group in Algeria and Algerian friends.

After being broadcast on Jeel Dz TV channel, the reportage was posted on the social networking platform Youtube. Thanks to it, the image of Vietnam was widely promoted to Algerians.

Jeel Dz TV is a digital information channel with the focus on developing and disseminating information through Internet platforms and social networks such as YouTube, Tiktok, Facebook and Instagram.

On the basis of the traditional friendship between the two countries, cultural diplomacy has always been a bright spot and has been widely deployed in Algeria. Cultural diplomacy has really become a bridge between Vietnamese culture and Algerian culture, helping the two countries share cultural values on the basis of respecting differences.

Besides their admiration for Vietnamese history and culture, Algerians are also very fond of Vietnamese martial arts. Many sects and federations have been established with a large number of students. The Algerian Vovinam Viet Vo Dao Federation gathers about 20,000 students to participate in professional training and competition movements at nearly 200 Vovinam clubs in 41 provinces and cities across the country.

Algeria is considered one of the potential trade partners of Vietnam. Algeria also own strength with commodities such as oil and gas, phosphate, dates, olive oil... which Vietnamese enterprises have import needs and have full ability to establish business partners.
