Lac Quoi Border Post and Vinh Hoi Dong Border Gate (An Giang Border Guard) coordinated with the local Youth Union and Women's Union to carry out a campaign on March 8th.

They have promoted the prevention and control of the harmful effects of tobacco and banned the business and smuggling of this product to people in Lac Quoi commune (Tri Ton district) and Vinh Hoi Dong commune (An Phu district).

Members of the two units propagated the law on prevention and control of harmful effects of tobacco, decrees on tobacco prevention, and many other topics.

Along with that, they also shared the results of anti-smuggling activities of the Border Guard of An Giang province, especially against the smuggling of foreign tobacco in 2022. In addition, they educate people to prevent and control the harmful effects of tobacco, and legal sanctions for violations related to the transportation and trading of smuggled cigarettes.

In combination with distributing leaflets and pasting 400 posters on tobacco harm prevention and control in public places, they also guided 210 people to write a commitment to prevent and control tobacco harm. Those commitments include the content of not directly participating in and abetting tobacco smuggling; not directly participating in and abetting acts of buying, selling, storing, or delivering smuggled cigarettes; and strictly abiding by the provisions of the law on the prevention and combat of tobacco smuggling in the places where they live.

According to the plan, the remaining border posts of the Border Guard of An Giang province will continue to coordinate with relevant units to organize this activity in March.
