Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Switzerland chartered

AVIES is a non-government, non-profit, non-religious organization, which was chartered in accordance with the Swiss Civil Law, Article 60 on the formation of association.
AVIES is an association consisting around 70 Vietnamese intellectuals and experts in the Switzerland, who are based in different cities and states of the European country. The most populated cities are Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich.
The goal of AVIES is promoting and assisting the realization of ideas, projects, programme in the fields of science, technology, technique, medication, social affairs with the support of Vietnamese authorities, businesses, inpiduals, groups, contributing to the growth of Vietnam – Switzerland bilateral ties.
The debut of AVIES and the introduction of its executive committee was held within the agenda of the third “Meeting Vietnamese intellectuals in Switzerland” themed “Experience sharing on cooperation and implementation of Vietnamese project in the working context of Switzerland". The event brought together representatives of Vietnamese intellectuals and experts working in Swiss-based universities, businesses, technological groups and international organizations.
In addition, the meeting was attended by delegates from the global Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE), with headquarter based in Paris (France). These delegates participated in the event to share their experiences regarding the operation and development of the association.
Ambassador Duong Chi Dung, Head of the Vietnam permanent mission in the United Nations, World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva (Switzerland) chaired the event, together with representative of the Vietnamese embassy in Switzerland.
Speaking at the chartering ceremony of AVIES, Ambassador Duong Chi Dung highlighted the socio-economic development of Vietnam which has entered a dynamic transformation period, highlighting the role of the ‘creation government”, which focuses on the action, integrity for the benefit of the people, and the participation of different sectors and different levels of leaders.
According to the diplomat, the development of the country in the past years were attributed to the dedication of Vietnamese intellectuals and experts around the world, including those in Switzerland.
Based on the experience and current situation of Association of Vietnamese experts, intellectuals across the globe, including France, Ambassador Duong Chi Dung emphasized the need to reinforce the connection of Vietnamese intellectuals, experts of different generations, especially the young talents, who are working in Swiss-based universities, business, technological groups and international organizations. According to the ambassador, Vietnam will be tremendously benefited if the connection among those brilliant inpiduals is enhanced. He also stressed the importance of engaging them in projects which support the country's development.
On behalf of the Vietnamese representative diplomatic agencies in Switzerland, ambassador Duong Chi Dung pledged to stand by intellectuals, experts and work as the agent to link them up with Vietnamese authorities, facilitating them in completing the project, plans of AVIES, to ensure practical outcome.

The ambassador also spoke highly of the charter of AVIES, expressing his hope that the association will enjoy robust growth in the time to come via fostering the inclusion of Vietnamese intellectuals and experts of different generations in Switzerland, and the development of ideas and projects benefiting Vietnam.
Also in the meeting, participants had chance to listen to AVIES members and honored guests' presentation on various topic, which were: "Blockchain4Healthcare to Vietnam" by Dr. Quy Vo-Reinhard (Co-founder and Chief Data Official, HIT Foundation, Zug); "IT Outsourcing to Vietnam" by Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh (Technical Lead – Digital Mobile projects, Richemont group, Geneve), "Remote Startup: 5-Year Lessons" by Msc. Do Son Thanh (Co-Founder & CEO at Chainfund.ch); "AVSE Global’s organizational structure, operations and development" by Vu Ngoc Anh (General Director of AVSE Global, Leader of Indicators of government effectiveness Project & Vietnam Digital Economy Forum) and "AVSE Global – Opportunities for cooperation and exchanges among overseas Vietnamese intellectuals" (by Nguyen Duc Khuong (President of AVSE Global, Professor of Finance, IPAG Business School, France)./.
