According to local people, this beach is called Ba Dong Beach because every time the tide changes, the beach appears three sand caves, including two small ones and a large one with unique shapes. Ba Dong Beach is also one of the rare beaches in the Southwest region, where nature has gifted a strip of sand extending from Nha Mat to Con Egg hamlet.
During the colonialism era, the French built a resort and used it to rest and swim. This resort is also enjoyed by Vietnamese who spend weekends and vacations there.
Unfortunately, wars have destroyed all the road systems to Ba Dong Beach. Tra Vinh Province authorities are now evaluating the possibility of rebuilding the road system. Tra Vinh tourism office also plans to renovate and exploit the Ba Dong seaside resort and turn it into an attractive Cuu Long River Delta tourist site.

The outstanding feature of this beach is the shallow sandy shore, and gently lapping waves, creating safe conditions for visitors to enjoy the natural space without worry. Besides, Ba Dong Beach is still new to tourism and has not been explored much, so it retains most of its natural beauty.
With a long stretch of sandy beach and lush green coconut trees nearby, tourists can stroll along the beach at sunrise and enjoy a relaxing experience at Ba Dong. From the hotels and restaurants hiding among the poplars rustling in the sea wind, tourists can look beyond at the far sea, where fleets of fishing boats are sailing industriously to bring back inexhaustible resources to enrich the country. In this report, they can savor fresh seafood at surprisingly cheap prices.
Ba Dong Beach hosts numerous seafood restaurants specializing in typical southwestern Vietnamese cuisine fished directly from the ocean. Specialties include crab sauce eaten with bananas, carambola, girdle cakes or rice rolls, and boiled meat.
The beach is dotted with bungalows and cots ranging in price, which offer tourists a chance to lay back and unwind to the rhythmic sound of undulating waves. Tourists can play on numerous dunes on the beach. Other places of interest here are a lighthouse, shrimp lakes, and small islets.

Tra Vinh is known for the Khmer Chol Chnam Thmay (New Year celebration) festival, with interesting events such as watching traditional dances and releasing lanterns. This festival usually takes place in mid-April. Therefore, visitors can combine traveling to Ba Dong beach with participating in this festival.
From the beach just 7 kilometers away rests an imposing mangrove forest. A light wind invigorates beachgoers with its fresh and clear breezes. When famished from physical activities, tourists can indulge in various culinary delights on the beachside.
