The Hawaiian beauty said that receiving the Miss Universe USA 2023 crown was not an easy decision for her after Miss Noelia Voigt gave up the title due to mental health reasons. Savannah expressed her support for Noelia Voigt and sent her best wishes to the former Miss USA.

Previously, on May 6, Noelia Voigt surprised everyone by announcing her resignation after nearly 8 months of reigning. The beauty from Utah said this was a difficult decision, but it was because of her mental issues.

Two days later, Miss Teen USA 2023, UmaSofia Srivastava, also gave up her crown, saying her personal values were "no longer completely consistent with the direction of the organization".

The resignations of both reigning queens from the Miss USA organization have caused a public stir in recent days. Former Communications Director of Miss USA, Claudia Michelle, has spoken out, accusing the organization of having a toxic work environment that disrespects the titleholders. Claudia Michelle also resigned on May 3rd.
