(VNF) - From September 14th to 17th, the Red Cross Association of the southeastern province of Binh Phuoc in collaboration with the Provincial Union of Friendship Organisations provided gifts and free medical check-ups for disadvantaged people in Cambodia province of Mondulkiri and Lao province of Champasak.

In each country, the delegation provided free medical examination and medicine to more than 300 people, mainly elderly, women and children, and presented 250 gift packages included necessities such as instant noodles, cooking oil, sugar, milk, etc,.

The total value of medical examination, drugs and gifts is about VND 150 million (USD 6,600) which are deducted from the provincial Humanitarian Fund and Dopharco Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Corporration donated medicines.

Nguyen Thanh Van, Chairman of the provincial Union of Friendship Organisations, said the Union came into operation on August 26th, 2016. This is the first philanthropic activity organised by the Union, aimed to help poor people to stabilise their lives and contributing to tightening the solidarity between the people of three countries./.
