Book Featuring Modern Indochina Art Launched in Vietnam

Marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Fine Arts University, on January 11, the Association of Asian Artists in Paris, Aguttes Auction house, In Fine éditions d’art, French Institute in Vietnam and Viet Art View Company co-hosted an official launch in Vietnam the book "L’Art moderne en Indochine" by researcher Charlotte Aguttes-Reynier, president of the Association of Asian Artists in Paris.

The book is published by In Fine éditions d’art, which specializes in art publications and exhibition catalogs, a unit under Société Française de Promotion Artistique – SFPA (publishing agency for Connaissance des Arts and In Fine éditions d’art), part of the newspaper group Les Échos – Le Parisien, a branch of the LVMH Group.

The main content of the 432-page book is elaborate research, covering the entire history of the Indochina Fine Arts College from 1925 to 1945 including the process of establishment, development, operations, achievements, outstanding lecturers and students, and works.

The event aims to honor the contributions and achievements of lecturers and students of Indochina Fine Arts College in the process of laying the foundation, building and developing Vietnam's modern fine arts.

At the event, Aguttes-Reynier also shared the process of researching and completing the book; discussed Indochina modern art in particular and Vietnamese modern art in general, interacted with guests and signed the books.
