The second plenary conference of the 13th-tenure Party Central Committee opened in Hanoi on Monday and concluded on March 9 following the completion of all of the set agenda items.
During the two-day sitting, the Party Central Committee has discussed the working agenda of the entire tenure, the nomination of candidates for high-ranking positions in State organs who will take the key positions within the new State apparatus, including State President, Prime Minister, and Chairperson of the National Assembly, and several other important issues.
Once submitted, the list will be debated before being adopted by 200 members of the Party Central Committee, then subsequently introduced to the coming National Assembly in order for a vote to be held to ratify the positions.

After the 13th National Party Congress, the Politburo has directed the completion and announcement of the congress’s documents, while preparing to issue the Politburo’s Directive on studying, disseminating and carrying out the congress’s Resolution.
The Politburo has also been preparing for the building of working regulations and some other important issues.
The Politburo has approved working programmes of the Politburo and the Secretariat in 2021, assigned tasks for Politburo and Secretariat members, rearranged personnel of several centrally-run agencies, and conducted preparations for the introduction of candidates to run to seats in the 15th NA, reported VNA.
In his closing remarks at the event, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong highlights the sense of responsibility and democracy felt by each of the committee’s members throughout the discussions.

General Secretary Trong underlines the importance of consistently following the orientations for personnel work as approved by the 13th National Party Congress in order to ensure the united, comprehensive, and harmonious leadership of the Party in all aspects, whilst reinforcing the nation’s general strength, reported VOV.
Delegates are also set to discuss a range of other key issues, including the implementation of the Party’s resolution along with preparations for the upcoming election of deputies to the new National Assembly for the 2021-2026 tenure.
The Communist Party of Vietnam held its 13th national congress in Hanoi from January 26 to February 2, during which it adopted a resolution setting out a new development course for the nation over the coming five years and beyond.

During the event delegates also hold discussions on a range of other key issues, including the implementation of the Party’s resolution, in addition to preparations for the upcoming election of deputies to the new National Assembly for the 2021 to 2026 tenure.

With all of the set agenda items now completed, preparations for the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils can take place at all levels for the 2021 to 2026 tenure.
The resolution will be carried out by the new State leadership which will be elected and ratified at the first session of the coming National Assembly.
Vietnamese people will cast their ballots this May to elect the new National Assembly for the 2021-2026 tenure.
