Considered as the "capital of coffee" in Kon Tum, Dak Ha has an area of over 9,000 hectares of coffee fields. Most farmers grow coffee due to the suitability of the climate and soil. November, December is the harvest season here. However, this year, due to the influence of storms in November, the water level in the Dak Pxi River has risen, therefore, some households have harvested early to prevent fruit from falling. Besides unfavorable weather conditions, people are still optimistic about the harvesting season. Early in the morning, the farmers drive a farm truck, bringing tarpaulins, food, and drinking water to the coffee garden. They stretched the large tarpaulins around the base of coffee trees to catch the fruits when they fall from the branches. With tall coffee trees, they have to use chairs or climb trees to pick up the fruits. The work usually lasts for an hour. When the tarpaulins are covered with coffee beans, the farmers gathered the bean in bags. (Photo: VN Express) |

At the end of the working day, the farm truck carried the bags of coffee along the small roads between the garden and the field bank and went home. Sacks of fresh coffee are transported to the gathering place. Every house has a drying yard. On the peak days of the harvest season, people also take advantage of any space to dry the coffee beans. “For coffee growers in Dak Ha district, the coffee harvest season is bustling, but also hard and challenging. The harvesting day is also an opportunity for young people to come to experience, to take photos and record videos about the work” said Thai, the photographer. (Photo: VN Express) |
