No new cases, only 1 severe patient left

As of 6 a.m. on September 21, Vietnam had a total of 691 cases of Covid-19 due to domestic infections. In which, for the past 19 consecutive days, Vietnam did not record any new cases of infection in the community.

Currently, pandemic outbreaks have been basically controlled, but in big urban areas with high population density, the risk of infection still exists as there is still neglect of the people towards the implementation of epidemic prevention measures such as wearing a mask when going out, not gathering crowdedly.

Among patients undergoing treatment, the case of patient no 793 being treated in the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 is currently the only one with severe conditions.

According to Tien Phong, the patient, currently on oxygen, had turned negative at least once for SARS-CoV-2 due to previous test.

340 Vietnamese safely brought home from US

During the two days from September 19 to 20, Vietnamese authorities, Vietnamese representative offices in the United States, and Vietnam Airlines cooperated with US authorities to bring more than 340 Vietnamese to their home countries safely.

Passengers on flights come from different states in the United States. The group includes children under 18, the elderly, the sick, travelers stranded, and international students who have completed their study program and have no accommodation due to closing of dormitories and other cases.

Vietnamese missions in the United States have actively supported citizens, many of whom have to move from locations far from the airport, and some need special assistance.

Vietnam Consulate General in Houston sent officers to the airport to directly assist citizens to complete the procedures and support the boarding process.

Immediately after landing at Van Don airport, the flight participants were under medical supervision and concentrated quarantine in accordance with regulations.
