The perspective of the Vietnam - Japan friendship bridge crossing the coastal route of Nguyen Tat Thanh (Da Nang).

A representative of ODK Mikazuki Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mikazuki Group (Japan), the investment unit in the construction of a Vietnam - Japan Friendship Bridge in Da Nang City, on June 24 said that it has been completed and will be inaugurated and present to the city soon.

The Vietnam - Japan Friendship Bridge is a pedestrian overpass spanning the Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal route. It is nearly 11 meters high and more than 140 meters long, with a total investment of VND 42 billion (USD 1.7 million).

The bridge's shape is inspired by the waves of the sea, creating lightness and relaxation. The combination of curves made of wooden materials with details bearing Japanese culture has created a modern but still traditional character. The paths leading to the Japanese-style overpass are shown as knots in the Japanese art of knitting strings, showing the strong bond between the two cultures of Vietnam - Japan.

The project was completed after five months of construction, expected to be inaugurated and put into use from July 1. This is an activity on the occasion of the celebration of the 50^th founding anniversary of the Vietnam - Japan diplomatic ties.

The soon-to-be-inaugurated overpass will connect two buildings of the Mikazuki Hotel.

It is considered one of the key projects for promoting the economic development of the Xuan Thieu Tourist Area in particular and the northwest region of Da Nang in general.

Japan is currently the city's largest foreign investor with 222 projects worth more than USD 1 billion in total.

The city actively engages in cultural exchanges with Japan through the organization of annual Viet Nam-Japan cultural exchange festivals, cherry blossom festivals, and many youth exchange activities.

Da Nang organized many programs and events in 2023 to celebrate the Vietnam - Japan ties such as the eighth Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange festival, the Japanese Film Week, a conference to introduce Da Nang tourism in Tokyo, and investment and trade promotion seminars.
