Impressed by Vietnam's socio-economic achievements over the past decades, which have propelled the country to robust development and deep international integration, Speaker Soren Gade affirmed Denmark's view of Vietnam as a key partner in the region and an ideal destination for Danish investors. He expressed his hope that the Vietnam-Denmark Comprehensive Partnership would continue to be strengthened and elevated to new heights. The Speaker also acknowledged the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Denmark, describing them as hardworking, law-abiding citizens contributing significantly to their host country.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha extended his gratitude to Speaker Soren Gade for the warm and respectful reception of the Vietnamese delegation. He reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to prioritizing Denmark in its foreign policy and expressed a desire to implement the established bilateral frameworks effectively.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the growing, effective cooperation between the two nations across all sectors, particularly in strategic areas such as climate and environment. He noted the significant frameworks established, including the Strategic Partnership on Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Green Growth (2011), the Comprehensive Partnership (2013), and the Green Strategic Partnership (2023), which provide a solid foundation for elevating bilateral relations.

During discussions on bilateral relations, both leaders welcomed the positive developments in Vietnam-Denmark cooperation and agreed on the importance of effectively implementing the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA). They also discussed advocating for the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) by remaining EU member parliaments. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested enhancing collaboration in areas where Denmark excels and aligns with Vietnam's development priorities, particularly in renewable energy, green growth, infrastructure development, marine economy, and circular economy.

The two leaders agreed to foster high-level parliamentary exchanges and collaboration between specialized committees and establish a Friendship Parliamentary Group to exchange information and share legislative and oversight experiences. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha conveyed an invitation from National Assembly Chairman of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man for Speaker Soren Gade to visit Vietnam at a mutually convenient time, which the Speaker graciously accepted.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed appreciation for generations of Danish citizens who supported Vietnam’s struggle for independence in the past and its current efforts in nation-building and development. He called on the Danish Parliament and Government to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Denmark to live and work, contributing as a vital bridge in bilateral relations.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with Denmark's Minister of Climate, Energy, and Utilities, Lars Aagaard. Minister Aagaard warmly welcomed the visit, expressing admiration for Vietnam's socio-economic progress and the Vietnamese Government's determination to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Minister Lars Aagaard emphasized the active and effective implementation of Vietnam-Denmark cooperation in climate change, environment, energy, and green growth. He assured Denmark’s continued support by sharing experiences and advanced technologies necessary for Vietnam’s green transition and greenhouse gas emission reduction.

Highlighting Denmark's national goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030, Minister Lars Aagaard shared Denmark’s global climate strategy, "For a Green and Sustainable World," which integrates foreign policy, development, trade, and climate initiatives to promote green transformation and global climate action. He expressed a commitment to enhancing Vietnam-Denmark collaboration through the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G) initiative and supporting Vietnam in successfully hosting the fourth P4G Summit.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed gratitude for Denmark’s support through ODA, which has contributed to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He urged Denmark to continue providing ODA in areas such as environmental protection and climate change adaptation.

The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged Denmark as a global leader in environment, climate change, and green energy, serving as a development model for many countries, including Vietnam. He expressed a desire for Denmark to share its green development policies, which would help Vietnam improve its institutional framework and policies, enabling businesses in both countries to cooperate effectively with an emphasis on innovation.

Both sides agreed to encourage and facilitate partnerships between their business communities in technology transfer and investment in areas such as climate change adaptation, emission reduction, energy transition, digital transformation, and smart infrastructure development in Vietnam.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and Minister Lars Aagaard witnessed the signing of a Joint Action Plan for 2024–2025 under the framework of the Green Strategic Partnership and the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Denmark.
