Diplomacy Strengthens Cooperation with Vietnamese Communities in Australia

At the event, Sampson expressed his wish to collaborate with the embassy to enhance cooperation and connectivity between the two sides, as well as between the AVFS and various associations of Vietnamese in Australia.

Kim Sampson stated that he is working closely with the Vietnamese Business Association in Australia and is interested in connecting with other Vietnamese associations to expand his network, and contribute to enhancing mutual understanding, and exchange between Australia and Vietnam.

He also shared his intention to revive a general practitioner exchange program between Vietnam and Australia, aiming to increase connections, and share expertise in primary healthcare in local, and rural medical facilities. It is expected that in October 2024, his association will welcome two Vietnamese doctors to Adelaide as part of the doctor exchange program between the two countries.

Ambassador Pham Hung Tam commended the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association's efforts in building connections, and recognized Kim Sampson's significant contributions as the Association's President for over a decade. He expressed confidence that the Association will continue to introduce more positive initiatives to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries.

The Ambassador also emphasized the strong and reliable cooperative foundation between Vietnam and Australia, urging the Association to actively implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association. This includes expanding the network of members supporting Vietnam-Australia relations, fostering greater understanding, exchange, and sharing of experiences between the two sides.

On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam and Kim Sampson also discussed the activities of the Vietnamese community in Australia, particularly in the state of Victoria.
