At the seminar
During the seminar, the lectures raised difficulties in teaching Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese and proposed practical solutions, contributing to preserving and spreading Vietnamese culture in Germany.
Ms. Duong Thi Viet Thang - First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, Head of the Education and Overseas Department, acknowledged the efforts and contributions of the teachers who are teaching Vietnamese in Germany.
Through the seminar this time, Ms. Thang hoped that lecturers would have more opportunities to exchange Vietnamese teaching methods; at the same time, presenting difficulties and practical suggestions to develop better teaching Vietnamese, thereby contributing to preserving and spreading Vietnamese culture in Germany.
During the seminar, delegates exchanged views on the origin and development of Vietnamese language, thereby highlighting the characteristics of grammar, type of words to note in teaching Vietnamese for overseas children and foreigners.
Besides theoretical contents, the participants also discuss methods of teaching Vietnamese to many specific target groups.
Currently in many German cities where there are Vietnamese communities, such as Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, and Magdeburg, Vietnamese associations have also organized numerous Vietnamese language classes for free. Meanwhile, in the state of Berlin, Brandenburg and Sachsen, Vietnamese has been taught at schools such as a language of choice and Vietnamese teachers are paid by the state government according to volume of class hours.
