Coming to Hue Citadel during this season, visitors can see frangipane flowers appearing everywhere, from the campus to the area around Phu Van Lau (Pavilion of Edicts). The frangipane flower is white on the outside, the inside is light yellow or red; the pleasant aroma goes with the gentle breeze of wind definitely seduces the travelers.

In addition to frangipane flowers, parasol flowers bring another shade of beauty to the ancient capital. Arriving in Hue at the end of March to June, visitors can enjoy the sight of blooming parasol flowers along the banks of the Huong River or in Thuong Bac Park in Tran Hung Dao Street.

Hue Citadel is the best place to see parasol tree flowers. The parasol trees of Hue are considered as a symbol of the Royal as the phoenix appears only on the plant according to the Asian legend. Therefore, the Hue people consider it as a tree of regal monarchs grown only in sacred and noble places such as the Citadel and the tombs of the Nguyen kings. Images of the tree were also carved on Nhon Dinh in the Citadel.

Another beautiful flower of Hue that cannot be missed out on is yellow flamboyant flowers which attract visitors thanks to its delicate beauty. The golden carpet of falling petals creates a dreamy, romantic sight in Hue streets such as Ngo Quyen, Phan Boi Chau, Le Loi or Tran Hung Dao streets.

Giant crape-myrtle flowers are also grown on many roads in Hue such as Truong Chinh, Truong Gia Mo, Cao Xuan Duc, Pham Van Dong, Kim Long or Trinh Cong Son.

The flower season of Hue may not be completed without lotus flowers. Hue lotus usually come in white, pink and dark pink. They are grown in Hue ditches, on a part Ngu Ha river and on both sides of Tinh Tam lake. Visitors can go to La Chu village to enjoy the magnificent sight of lotus. This is a small village famous for its beautiful lotus lagoons, located in Huong Chu commune, Huong Tra district, Hue.

Furthermore, Hue captivates visitors by the beauty of chinaberry flowers, each of which has small purple petals, often growing in clusters at the end of March and early April. Visitors can see the flowers around Hue ancient capital, from the park corner, roadside, riverbanks, embankments, in the porch or gardens in the inner city of Hue. The scent of the chinaberry flower is not strong but gentle, just enough to leave a deep impression in the mind of any visitors to Hue.
