"Eternal Flow" of Vietnamese Culture Impresses Global Friends in EXPO Dubai
In the framework of the World EXPO Dubai, Vietnam's national day, which officially opened on December 30, has left a great impression on visitors and the host country.
Many activities were held to introduce the unique and attractive cultural traits of Vietnam, such as an art program with a theme of "Eternal Flow," a screening of the short film Children of Dragon and Fairy at Al Wasl square, a week dedicated to Vietnamese cinema, exhibition of Dong Ho paintings, and artist Xeo Chu's exhibition of Mu Cang Chai paintings.

Vibrant cultural traits are shown in Dubai
Vietnam's national day in EXPO Dubai was started by a flag-raising ceremony on the morning of December 30, 2021.
The event welcomed Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Arab Emirates Nguyen Manh Tuan, and representatives of different ministries and localities. Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs also attended the event.
A special drum performance by People's Police Academy and a Quan Ho folk song was delivered in the solemn ceremony, strengthening the national identities at the expo.
A Dong Ho painting exhibition was held on the same day. The event was attended by Merited Artist Nguyen Thi Oanh - the eldest daughter-in-law of the late artisan Nguyen Huu Sam, who was the first merited artist in the village.

A delegation of Vietnamese artists and artisans held a parade to Al Wasl Square, attracting thousands of attendees. The parade was led by the People's Police Academy drum group. Every time the drum group stops to perform, hundreds of phones are raised to record and broadcast the performance.
A Grand Art Fashion show named "The Eternal Flow," which introduced international friends to ao dai, was held at 4:30 pm (Dubai time) on the same day.
On the background music of Lotus Dance, designer Vu Viet Ha's silk ao dai collection offered an enchanting cultural space. Inspired by famous landmarks and world-recognized heritage sites in Vietnam, the collection uses traditional embroidery techniques to introduce the splendid image of Vietnam on the costumes.
Designer Vu Viet Ha said: “Vietnam is known for its tradition of silk, so I used Ha Giang silk thread in the Hmong way to demonstrate Vietnamese signature clothing identities. The collection is hand-woven and dyed with natural and eco-friendly materials. The dresses have meticulous hand-embroidered national heritage images on them. That's how we want to convey our love and pride for the country, and at the same time, invite friends from all over the world to Vietnam."

Traditional culture is an eternal flow
Designer Chula's brocade collection was featured in the "The Eternal Flow" show by the Vietnam Circus Federation and gong artisans from the Central Highlands. The mighty bamboo dance and the melody of gongs were added to the performance to showcase a heritage handed down from ancient generations.
Chula's show was followed by Ly Qui Khanh's brocade collection named Dream Blossom. Consisting of 30 high-end designs, the collection pushed the audience's emotions to the next level. Khanh brought a new look to brocade material by using dyeing techniques while still keeping the traditional textures and patterns. Thereby, the fabric became more youthful and playful while preserving the values of haute couture and culture. The liberal, the modern and contemporary energy, the uniqueness of traditional culture are shown through each design, shouting out loud the young generations' motto of staying up-to-date while preserving the eternal flow of traditional culture.
Regarding the collection's name, Dream Blossom, Ly Qui Khanh said it presented the image of ethnic girls with colorful costumes standing in the hills in the early morning - a familiar yet stunning image of the mountainous areas in Vietnam. Dream Blossom also implies a dream to carve the brand of Vietnamese fashion and craftmanship on the international market.
Using brocade, a heritage passed downed by generations, a symbol of the vibrant lives of Vietnamese ethnic groups, the "The Eternal Flow" show introduces the application of the material into modern life and promotes traditional craftsmen to join the international market.
