With a Vietnamese-Thai community of more than 60,000 residents, Udon Thani is home to the largest population of Vietnamese origin in Thailand. The Vietnamese Town is expected to become a cultural center of Vietnamese people in Thailand's northeastern region, and a place to keep the tradition and culture of the Vietnamese community as well as a tourist attraction.

The street construction project has been planned and implemented for a long time, with an investment of up to THB 3 million (nearly USD 86,000) to embellish roads, sidewalks and infrastructure. In addition, a Vietnamese bank also donated THB 1.5 million (nearly USD 43,000) to build a welcome gate for the neighborhood.
