Famous Writer Bernard Werber Interacts With Vietnamese Fans
The event was jointly organized by the French Institute in Hanoi, the National Library of Vietnam, and the Nha Nam Bookstore Culture and Media Joint Stock Company.
In the meeting, Bernard Werber shares that from the experience of nearly dying from being attacked by safari ants at 20 years old, this creature became a significant image in his novels.

"I wrote about ants because people often think this is not a good topic," shared Bernard. "I chose to talk about ants- something strange, so I can completely attract readers."
From the details in the story, Werber wanted to convey and change the way we see the human world from the perspective of ants. He also wished to raise questions about humans' position in life. In reality, we always define who we are by the eyes of others.
The famous French writer also believes that people cannot limit their vision and thoughts to the brain, but must have a broader view, beyond time and space.

Bernard Werber also gave a lot of meaningful pieces of advice to Vietnamese readers. He encourages people to step out of their comfort zone and trust their intuition, following "the formula for success is to believe in yourself."
With his first experience coming to Vietnam, Bernard Werber emphasized that meeting Vietnamese readers has given him material to write and continue building new stories in the future.
He will continue to interact with Vietnamese readers in Hue on March 19, Da Nang on March 20 and Ho Chi Minh City on March 21.
With 15 million books sold worldwide, Bernard Werber is one of the most famous contemporary French writers. Widely loved by readers globally, especially in Korea, he is the second most loved foreign author, after Haruki Murakami. Some of the most successful works by Werber include Ant - Ant Day - Ant Revolution. The novel series brought Werber's name beyond the boundaries of France. The Ant series has been translated into more than 30 languages. Not only commercially successful, this trilogy also received many French awards. Volume one Ant won the reader's award for Science and the Future (Sciences et Avenir). The second book The Day of the Ant was released soon after and received a major award from Elle readers. Born in 1961 in Toulouse, France, after graduating from Toulouse University with a major in Law and the National School of Journalism, Bernard Werber spent more than 15 years as a science journalist and collaborated with other newspapers such as Le Point and Ça m'interesse.
