Vietnamese expatriates expressed national pride by sending their thoughts and prayers to the fatherland in the New Year of 2022. Many of them had spent more than three decades away from their homeland, yet their love stays strong and they always think of Vietnam and their hometown. They also contribute ideas about developing many aspects of the country.

Tran Minh Tien, advisor of the Vietnamese Association in Udon Thani province (Thailand), said that the expatriate community in Thailand was not only united but also played an important role in the host society. The Vietnamese community in Thailand always maintains a loving and caring lifestyle.

The life of expatriates in Thailand is getting better and better and they have also turned to the Fatherland with specific actions, such as donating to support flood-affected central region or supporting the response to the Covid-19 epidemic.

Generations of overseas Vietnamese care deeply for the younger generation. Elders help the youth be proud of their Vietnamese roots.

The Vietnamese expatriate community in Thailand always tries to preserve the national cultural identity. During the Spring Festival, families still practice traditional Tet customs such as wrapping chung cake, visiting pagodas and performing ceremonies at Tran Hung Dao temple.

Every year during Tet, people in Udon Thani province open a Vietnamese culinary road, with many stalls displaying signature holiday dishes.

In addition, the community often organizes Vietnamese language classes for children of expatriates. Thereby, helping overseas generations to better understand the country and culture of the nation.

"We hope that the Party and State continue to support overseas Vietnamese with practical activities," said Tran Minh Tien.

Nguyen Viet Trieu, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Union in Europe, emphasized the spirit of sharing and caring for each other among the Vietnamese community in Poland.

It is a small but united community. Over the past two years, the Vietnamese community in Poland has set up committees and funds to advise and support Vietnam in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control.

In addition, the community also established a group to cook daily meals for many hospitals and anti-epidemic forces in Poland. Thereby, along with the contributions to the local economy, the community help creates a beautiful image of Vietnamese people in Poland.

Overseas Vietnamese in Poland are always been devoted to their homeland, by donating to support the central provinces that have suffered heavy damage due to natural disasters. The community also donated masks, disinfected water, and contributed to the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Association in Poland, Trieu hopes that Vietnam will soon completely control the epidemic, so that people can live safely, the country can develop and the economy can recover.

"Overseas Vietnamese, children of Lac and grandson of Hong, always look to their homeland and are always proud of their country and homeland wherever they are. I hope that Vietnam will continue to develop and returnees will be happy to witness the changes and wish to contribute more to the homeland," said Trieu.

Nguyen Dong Hai, vice president of the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia, expressed his joy when returning to the Fatherland after 34 years.

"After 34 years of working and living abroad, this is the first time I have attended the Xuan Que Huong Program. The program thoughtfully organized many activities, showing the Party and State's deep concern for overseas Vietnamese,” he said.

Vietnam is always in the hearts of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia. When the country is facing difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics, Vietnamese people in Slovakia always turn to their homeland with practical activities, including the recent support for the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

Although also affected by the epidemic, the Vietnamese community in Slovakia also contributed to helping the country overcome challenges. Each donation contains the sacred affection of Vietnamese far from home.

The love of the homeland is also the driving force for us to maintain and strengthen the cohesion of the overseas Vietnamese community, especially the young generation, with the homeland.

Overseas Vietnamese in Slovakia pay great attention to Vietnamese cultural identity. The movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese in the community, especially for the children of the second and third generations of expatriates, i. thriving,

"Overseas Vietnamese in Germany are a united community and always help each other in everyday life. The community in Germany is also always with the homeland, trying to preserve local identity," he said

"For the new year, we make traditional food, burning incense to grandparents and ancestors on the afternoon of the last day of the year."

Overseas Vietnamese in Germany also organize Tet exchange programs so that not only the first and second generations but also the younger ones can understand and preserve traditional culture. Now when people in the country are facing difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics, overseas Vietnamese in Germany have donated to support the central region, contributing to the Covid-19 Vaccine Fund.

Thang said that it had been two years since he last returned to the homeland. Therefore, I am very excited and moved because I can return home, witness the development of the country and feel the eager atmosphere of the new spring. I was able to attend the 'Xuan Que Huong' Program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.

The program has created an opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to meet and receive the love of leaders of the Party and State.

"I believe that, under the leadership of the Party and State, Vietnam will overcome the Covid-19 epidemic, recover the post-pandemic economy and continue to rise and develop strongly," said Thang.
