Free Tet Train and Bus Tickets for Workers: What Criteria must Recipients Meet?

Accordingly, there are 6 criteria for selecting union members and employees to participate in the "Trade Union Train - Spring 2025", which sponsors free 2-way tickets, and "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2025" (one-way tickets). The criteria are as follows:

First, enterprises for which union members and employees work must complete union fee payments before October 30, 2024.

Second, tickets are given to union members and employees who are working in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Tay Ninh provinces and have hometowns in the northern provinces (from Da Nang to the north of Vietnam).

Third, union members and employees have strictly complied with the policies and laws of the Party and State, the internal rules, regulations, and provisions of the unit, enterprise, and locality of residence; actively participated in activities organized by the Union organizations.

Fourth, union members and workers have difficult circumstances or have been awarded certificates of merit and awards by the Provincial or Municipal Labor Federations, the Central Industry Trade Union and equivalent agencies, the General Corporation Trade Union under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor or agencies of higher levels, from 2020 to 2024;

Fifth, union members and workers have not returned home to celebrate Tet for many years. If they have to take flights to go home, they are only qualified if they have not returned home to celebrate Tet for at least 3 years. Workers who travel home by train are only qualified if they have not gone home for at least 2 years. Recipients must not travel with more than one relative (husband/wife, father, mother, child).

Sixth, union members and workers need to return to their hometowns to celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year of the Snake and commit to returning to their agencies and businesses to work after the holiday ends.

It is expected that about 2,400 union members and workers will be able to go home for Tet for free according to Plan No. 138/KH-TLĐ of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
