Meanwhile, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, in his capacity as Prime Minister in the 2016-2021 tenure, succeeded in leading the country in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the impact of the global economic crisis.

He has helped consolidate Vietnam’s prestige in the international arena through intensive and extensive cooperation in ASEAN, the article stated.

It also cited newly-elected Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s remarks at the National Assembly, where he said he will carry forward the achievements of the 2016-2021 tenure in order to drive the country forward.

Previously, Algerian media also published extensive coverage of Vietnam’s new leadership as well as the country’s impressive economic achievements amid the adverse impact of COVID-19.

Prestigious newspapers and websites such as El-Moudjahid, Cresus, Reporters, La Patrie-news, Culture-Algerie, Reseau-international, and Algerie360 ran articles saying the newly-elected leaders have high prestige.

They also commended the socio-economic and diplomatic achievements Vietnam recorded during the 2016-2021 period, most notably the successful implementation of the dual goals of containing the pandemic and maintaining economic growth last year.

According to the articles, with his rich experience, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to help the Government overcome the existing difficulties and challenges to fulfill the strategic targets set for the next five years.

They also lauded Vietnam’s rising position in the international arena, especially it's assuming the United Nations Security Council Presidency this month, adding that this is the second time the country has held the seat in the 2020-2021 tenure.

It presents a major opportunity for the country to contribute to peace, security, and prosperity in the region and the world in a more active, proactive, and responsible manner, the articles said.

While highlighting the traditional relations and friendship between Vietnam and Algeria, the articles also noted that many fields of endeavor are yet to match potential, especially in economy, trade, and investment.

The authors believe that the new Government in Vietnam will adopt suitable mechanisms and policies to further step up bilateral ties.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Nguyen Thanh Vinh said the articles contribute to promoting Vietnam’s image and raising understanding among Algerians, particularly young people, about the country as well as the bilateral relationship.

The Lao news agency KPL ran an article Tuesday highlighting the election of Vietnam’s new State President, Prime Minister, and National Assembly Chairman. The article said all the new leaders left their mark on their previous positions through hard work, innovation, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The article said the new leaders are expected to use their intellect and talent to build on the success of their predecessors in realizing Vietnam’s aspiration to become strong and prosperous under the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Czech media outlets, including the Czech News Agency (CTK), Czech Television (CT), and e-newspaper Halonoviny, ran articles Monday on the election of new State, Government, and National Assembly leaders in Vietnam. According to the articles, the new leadership is expected to continue helping Vietnam make great strides forward, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and elevate its stature in the world.

In an interview with VOV, Doctor Evgeny Kobelev, a senior expert at the Vietnam-ASEAN Research Center of the Fareast Institute of Russia’s Academy of Science, praised Vietnam’s new leadership and said Vietnam needs to continue its development policies which have brought about significant results. He said maintaining stability will strengthen the confidence of investors, the public, and the international community.

Mexican e-newspapers El Universal and Voces del Periodista posted stories on the election of new leaders in Vietnam. They said 2021 is an important year for Vietnam, as it marks the beginning of Vietnam’s 2021-2030 Socio-Economic Development Strategy and 2021-2025 Socio-Economic Development Plan. With creativity and innovation, the new leaders will find sound orientations, decisions, and policies that will carry Vietnam forward in great strides. The stories predicted that friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico will be consolidated, enhanced, and elevated to a new height.

“The Diplomatic Society” newswire of South Africa carried an article Tuesday highlighting the international community’s acknowledgment of the new Vietnamese leaders. The newswire’s Editor-in-Chief Kirtan Bhana said the new Vietnamese government will prioritize external relations to build political trust, strengthen Vietnam’s relationship with its 30 strategic and comprehensive partners, strengthen relations with potential new partners in the region, and promote multilateralism and international law.
