GNI Launches The Project Strengthening Mental Health For Secondary School Students In Hanoi

The Korean non-governmental organization Good Neighbors International (GNI) in Vietnam initially implemented the project strengthening mental health for secondary school students through building and operating model of school counseling room, also known as the Speak Out 2.
Good Neighbors in Vietnam (GNI) held a signing ceremony of cooperation agreements with 02 schools including Minh Khai Secondary School (Ha Dong District, Hanoi) and Le Quy Don Secondary School (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) on October 7, 2021.
This is one of the activities under the project. Strengthening mental health for secondary school students in Hanoi through building and operating a model of school counseling room, which is also known as the Speakout 2.
GNI gives gifts to 3,805 sponsored children in the project areas in Vinh Loc district (Thanh Hoa province) and Quang Binh district (Ha Giang province). |
In 2019, GNI implemented the project "Prevention of school violence, building safe schools for children", known as Speakout 1. This project gained impressive achievements such as establishing and operating 02 school counseling rooms at the school of Ban Mai Middle School and High School, and Nguyen Truong To Secondary School; providing psychological counseling for more than 700 students; training 260 teachers on prevention of school violence. In addition, the seminar related to listening to children and the event of "Happy things of Minh Duc" attracted the participation of thousands of people.
Following the success, the Speakout 2 project will replicate the consultation room model at Minh Khai Middle School and Le Quy Don Secondary School in 2021.
Besides operating 04 consulting rooms, the project has been organizing online events such as "A Happy Saturday Hour" every month; "Accompanying children" training with the topic of "Understanding children, understanding themselves" for parents; training on skills and consulting tools with Korean experts for teachers.
