On the afternoon of May 31 in Hanoi, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM) held a press conference to announce "The First ICHAM CUP," a binational golf tournament. The tournament took place in Vinh Phuc on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Italy (March 23, 1973-March 23, 2023) and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries (2013-2023).

The tournament lasted from May 31 to August 7, 2023 with the participation of more than 100 players, guests of honor, successful businessmen, partners and members of ICHAM. Besides, there are side activities such as the seminar "Sustainability and Energy Transformation," and networking events for businesses.

Speaking at the event, Antonio Alessandro, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam emphasized that the announcement ceremony of "The First ICHAM CUP" is an opportunity to jointly promote the development of sports tourism and enhance the friendship between the two countries.

"The First ICHAM CUP" tournament consists of four groups A, B, C and the Women's Group. The event's prizes include a First Prize, a Second Prize and a Third Prize for each group with valuable rewards.

In addition, to increase the attractiveness of the tournament, the organizer will have more valuable prizes such as the prize for the male/female player with the farthest golf swing, prize for the male/female player with the closest swing to the flag, for the player whose swing is closest to the white line in the middle of the fairway, Hole in One, the promising prize.

"Coincidentally, 2023 is also the year of the Ryder Cup in Italy - one of the most famous tournaments in the golf world. The difference is that at the First ICHAM CUP, the prize is not only for the first place winner but will be divided equally into many categories,” Daniele Landini, representative of the sponsor Piaggio Vietnam announced the award categories.

The organizers of ICHAM hope that the tournament will be a bridge connecting the diplomatic relations between the two countries Vietnam-Italy, a highlight marking the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. It is also an opportunity for Italian businesses to connect, share experiences and develop in Vietnam.
