On the afternoon of November 12, in Hanoi, a seminar on meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions tourism (MICE) took place in Hanoi to promote tourism products between Hanoi and Incheon city (Republic of Korea).

The seminar was attended by Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, Nguyen Manh Than, Chairman of Hanoi Tourism Association (HANTA), and representatives of tourism businesses in Hanoi.

On the Republic of Korea's side, there were Baig Hyeon, Director of thesBureau of Tourism Promotion of Incheon City, Myeong Chang Jun, Head of Incheon MICE Tourism Board, and Lee Jae Hoon, Chief Representative of Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam.

Speaking at the seminar, Nguyen Manh Than, Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association emphasized the significance of this seminar in opening opportunities for effective cooperation, promoting closer exchanges and connections between MICE tourism businesses of the two cities.

“In the near future, we hope to carry out many specific cooperation activities with the Incheon Tourism Association. HANTA will soon organize a Famtrip survey team to Incheon, thereby learning and experiencing advanced, high-quality tourism products of RoK partners. We also expect in-depth connections between HANTA and members of the Incheon Tourism Association, to expand and effectively exploit many areas in the tourism industry”, said Than.

He also conveyed the hope that the Incheon Tourism Association would organize business delegations from Incheon to Hanoi and neighboring provinces to explore more potential, seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners, and promote cultural exchange, thereby contributing to the development of bilateral tourism.

“We are confident that, with determination and close cooperation, the relation between the two Tourism Associations will be further enhanced, contributing positively to the growth of the tourism industry in both cities”, said Than.

Sharing at the seminar, Director of the Bureau of Tourism of Incheon City Baig Hyeon referred to Incheon as a gateway city to RoK with diverse tourism infrastructure and content, namely natural marine tourism resources, rich cultural and historical values, top-level MICE infrastructure and advanced medical facilities.

Currently, Incheon is welcoming more than 70% of foreign visitors to RoK, with it having the Incheon international airport, the world's largest airport, Incheon seaport, and cruise ship terminal.

The city is implementing the “Incheon Tourism Partnership” program to breathe new life into the stagnant tourism industry following the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic.

One goal of the program is to organize large-scale events like this seminar about Incheon tourism in Viet Nam to promote Incheon's cultural values and excellent tourism conditions, thereby introducing unique tourism products of Incheon and creating new opportunities for business exchange.

At the seminar, the Incheon Tourism Association and the Hanoi Tourism Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism development. Accordingly, the two sides will cooperate in promotional campaigns, facilitate tourism programs, as well as exchange information on the development of tourism industries.
