Historical Evidence of Vietnam's Seas and Islands On Display for Youth
An exhibition featuring 100 images, including maps, ancient texts, and documents that prove Vietnam’s sovereignty in the East Sea recently held in Ho Chi Minh City's Thu Duc.
On display are also 50 artifacts of Can Gio port, Con Dao historical site, the shipwrecks in Cu Lao Cham and Ca Mau, as well as personal belongings of the Ly Son soldiers who guarded the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, and models of ships used throughout history.

The one-week long exhibition aims to contribute to affirming the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; strengthen education and knowledge about official history and geopolitics with international legal value on sea and island issues in our country to officials, workers and students of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Diep, head of the Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that the sea and islands play an important role in our country. It is the driving force for economic development, contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the country as well as ensuring national defense, security and territorial sovereignty.
"I hope the exhibition will help lecturers, staff and students of the school improve their knowledge about the country's islands and seas, thereby enhancing patriotism and national pride," Diep emphasized.

Last month, a digital exhibit also held at Vo Van Ky secondary school in the central province Khanh Hoa province, to offer students an insight into the historical and legal evidence proving the nation’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
The exhibition is scheduled to take place in nine schools across Nha Trang city up to October 21 as part of a public communication campaign to assert Vietnamese sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.
