India daily weather forecast latest, January 27: Dry weather across the country with isolated rain over Andaman, Nicobar Islands
According to Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away eastward. A trough is extending from West Bengal to Madhya Maharashtra, across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, south-east Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha. A cyclonic circulation is persisting over Assam and adjoining areas.

During the next 24 hours, the weather will remain dry over the entire country. Due to prevailing icy cold winds from Western Himalayas, minimum temperatures will drop across north-west and central India.
Cold wave conditions are expected at isolated pockets of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Thereafter, isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR may also come under cold wave condition.
Dense to very dense fog is expected over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. However, the density of fog will decrease from North-West India such as Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan, and West Uttar Pradesh. Cold day conditions are expected to abate from most parts of North India by January 26 or 27.

5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast
Dry weather is likely across India, except for Andaman & Nicobar Islands where isolated to scattered rain is possible in this forecast period. Moreover, isolated rain is expected over some parts of east India and the adjoining area on Thursday and Friday, Weather.com reported.
Dense to very dense fog is likely over some places of north India, north-central India and northeast India on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, low-temperature conditions are likely over north India, central India, northwest India and northeast India in this period. Cold day to severe cold day conditions are expected over isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The IMD has issued an orange alert over Rajasthan, Punjab, Harayana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh for today. The alert urges residents to 'be prepared' for the weather conditions.
Some isolated parts are also likely to witness severe cold wave conditions, which includes Punjab, Rajasthan from Tuesday onward, while Haryana and Delhi are also likely to experience similar conditions on Wednesday and Thursday.

Maximum temperatures are -2°C to -4°C less than average over north India, north-central India, northeast India and northwest India in this period. Maximum temperatures are near normal or slightly higher than other areas in this period.
Minimum temperatures are lower below average over north India, central India, northwest India and northeast India in this period. Minimum temperatures are higher over south-east India, south India, southwest India and northeast India in this period.

According to Hindustan Times, India was preceded by Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Bahamas, Japan, Malawi and Afghanistan in the list of countries most affected by the impacts of extreme weather events in 2019, the report by Germanwatch, a Bonn-based environmental organisation said.
Between 2000 and 2019, over 475,000 people lost their lives as a direct result of more than 11,000 extreme weather events globally and losses amounted to around US $2.56 trillion (in purchasing power parities).
The report was released just ahead of the Global Adaptation Summit hosted by Netherlands wherein UN secretary general Antonio Guterres is likely to call upon developed countries and donor agencies to increase funding to adaptation measures of developing countries.
