International Cultural Exchange Festival Takes Place in Okinawa, Japan

On November 3, the Vietnamese Association in Okinawa, Japan, held the International Cultural Exchange Festival in Okinawa. This is the first international cultural exchange event to be held to strengthen solidarity among countries and territories. It also builds a beautiful image of the country and the people of Vietnam in international friends’ eyes.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Association in Okinawa Nguyen Thi Huong emphasized that with the tireless efforts of the Vietnamese Association in Okinawa, the first International Cultural Exchange Festival was organized with the desire to promote and strengthen solidarity among countries and territories. It also builds a beautiful image of the country and the people of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Association in Okinawa, the event's Organizing Committee said that although this was the first time the International Cultural Exchange Festival was held, the event attracted the participation of many countries and territories, which are considered to have special cultures and bold identities. The festival also attracted nearly 30 booths introducing Vietnamese handicrafts, tourism, and culinary products, as well as those of participating countries and territories.

During the festival, the Vietnamese community in Japan, local people, and international friends enjoyed special cultural performances imbued with traditional cultures such as Ao Dai performances, Karate and Vovinam performances, songs praising the love of the homeland, country and people of Vietnam, as well as Japan and other participating countries and territories.

According to the Organizing Committee, it is estimated that more than 5,000 people from the Vietnamese community in Okinawa, local people, and the international community studying, working, and living in Okinawa attended this festival.
