The conference attracted the participation of 21 leading medical experts from Japan, Nepal, Taiwan (China), the USA, Australia, and Vietnamese spinal specialists; members of the Spine Association and leading experts in the field of kidney transplantation, along with nearly 1,000 invited delegates from medical units in the Mekong Delta region.

The conference is organized with a variety of topics focusing on the most advanced techniques and treatment methods. Accordingly, the 2024 Annual Hospital Science and Technology Conference with 52 reports in the following specialties: Resuscitation, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Respiratory, Microbiology, Neurology, Urology, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, Obstetrics-Gynecology, Burns-Cosmetic Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Nursing.
The International Spine Conference with 37 reports, including 28 reports on the spine (20 lectures from international experts, 8 scientific research articles), 9 reports on orthopedic oncology with the participation of leading experts in orthopedic trauma and spine from international and Vietnamese experts.

In his speech, Dr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Director of Can Tho Central General Hospital emphasized that the participation and contribution of Professors, Doctors, and Nurses in the country and internationally at this conference has affirmed the importance of international and interdisciplinary cooperation in constantly improving professional qualifications and quality of medical services. This is also an opportunity for doctors, nurses of Can Tho Central General Hospital as well as medical staff in the Mekong Delta region, and spinal specialists in Vietnam to update their professional knowledge, and share practical experiences in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.
Dr. Nguyen Minh Vu believes that through the reports and lively discussions, medical staff will gain valuable knowledge and experience and open up new cooperation opportunities for sustainable development in the future.
In the third series of technical transfer programs between the Orthopedic Trauma Center of Can Tho Central General Hospital and the Ho Chi Minh City Spine Association Conference taking place from November 7-11. Experts examined and performed 3 spinal cases including posterior decompression surgery using the Shiraishi method for cervical myelopathy causing partial paralysis of the limbs due to disc herniation and cervical spondylosis; foraminal release for cervical radiculopathy compressing the C8 root due to disc herniation C6C7; endoscopic laminectomy for cervical myelopathy caused by disc herniation C6C7 and cervical spondylosis.
