According to the latest data released by the General Statistics Office (GSO) on October 29, in the first 10 months of 2022, international visitors to Vietnam reached more than 2.35 million, 18.8 times higher than the same period last year.

Particularly in October 2022, international visitors to Vietnam increased by 12.1% over the previous month.

Of more than 2.35 million international visitors to Vietnam, visitors traveling by air accounted for 88.8%, 24.9 times higher than the same period last year. International arrivals by land accounted for nearly 11.2% and by sea accounted for 0.03%.

According to statistics, the revenue of accommodation and catering services in the 10 months of 2022 is estimated at VND 467,100 billion, up 51.8% over the same period last year.

Tourism revenue in 10 months of 2022 is estimated at 19,700 billion VND, 3.9 times higher than the same period last year.

The whole tourism industry is still actively promoting the image of Vietnam's tourism to attract international visitors to Vietnam in the peak months from September to April of next year. Among them, India is considered as a potential market.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), India is one of the 10 countries with the largest international search volume for Vietnam tourism since the beginning of the year. Aviation search volume in early April 2022 increased by 400% over the same period in 2021 and continued to spike over 3,000% in May. This is really a "golden opportunity" for Vietnam to exploit this potential market.

Since Vietnam completely opened up to tourism, the domestic market has grown unexpectedly, especially in the summer, while the international tourist market recovered quite slowly.

While the Chinese market has not reopened, the Russian market is still affected by wars and epidemics, Korean tourists have begun to return, and Indian tourists are still expected to develop stably and sustainably, which can fill the current gap of international visitors.

It is expected that in early 2023, Quang Nam Tourism Information and Promotion Center will organize a roadshow program to introduce and promote Quang Nam tourism in New Delhi.

With other international markets, Vietnam is also actively promoting and introducing new tourism programs and products.

In October 2022, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted the 2022 Mekong Tourism Forum with the theme "Rebuild Tourism, Rebound with Resilience" with the coordination of the Mekong Tourism Coordinator Office (MTCO), supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

With the successful organization of the forum, Vietnam highlights its commitment to continue working with members of the Mekong Sub-region to strengthen solidarity and close coordination, for the goal of increasing intra-regional tourism, attracting the international tourists economy, contributing to the recovery and development of the regional tourism in the new context.
