The exhibition includes 130 photos taken by Thomas Billhardt. Photos of the Vietnam War in the late 1960s put Thomas Billhardt on the world photographers list. He was the first one to capture the horrors of the Vietnam War, especially on the face of innocent children.

Thomas first set foot on the country in 1962 and returned for 11 times. Photos taken during these trips were published in photo books: Pilots in Pyiama (1968), Aspiration of Peace in Vietnam (1973), Hanoi before Peace (1973), and Vietnamese Faces (1978).

His photos depict the social injustice, poverty, suffering, war, and an insight into Vietnamese people's lives and their smiles.
