In his remarks, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu affirmed that literature is the most important and reliable record of the beauty of conscience and the true aspirations of a nation. To better understand these beauties and aspirations, the two sides host the signing ceremony of cooperation, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese and Pakistani writers' associations and literary organizations together for peace and common development.

Thieu said that in the coming time, the Pakistan Institute of Literature will make an Urdu translation of Kieu Tales by the great poet Nguyen Du and "Diary in prison" by President Ho Chi Minh. On the other hand, the Vietnam Writers Association will translate, publish and introduce a collection of 100 poems by Pakistani poets in Vietnam. To implement the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will organize exchanges, seminars and translations in the near future.

At the event, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Kohdayar Marri shared the story of Pakistan's history, culture, and people with delegates from both sides. He believed the signing ceremony will help eliminate the gap between two peoples, bring countries closer together, creating and strengthen the link and cooperation in literature, drama and poetry.

The Pakistanis diplomat hopes that the works of the great poets and writers of Pakistan will be translated into Vietnamese. On the other hand, he looked forward to see famous Vietnamese literary works translated, published and introduced to readers in Pakistan.

Another highlight of the event was the literature exchanges. The Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu presented the Embassy of Pakistan and the Pakistan Institute of Literature with 2 works "Carrying the Mountain and River on Our Shoulders" and "A Hunger for Peace", a collection of poems by Vietnamese poets in English.

Ambassador Kohdayar Marri presented the Vietnam Writers Association with the famous "Poems from Iqbal" and "Culture and Identity" by Faiz.

The Vietnam Writers Association and the Pakistan Institute of Literature wish, through this cooperation, to promote friendship and cooperation, understanding, and friendliness between the Vietnamese people and the peoples of other countries.
