The statement was made by Le Thi Thu Hang, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the International Conference on "50 years of Pakistan - Vietnam Diplomatic Relations," held in Hanoi on Nov. 8.

“When referring to people-to-people relations, there are many sectors that we can work in. First is tourism. Tourism gives big knowledge to each people about the other. Pakistan is a country full of different kinds of tourism. The best thing for Vietnam that Pakistan can offer is its Buddhism heritage. I am hopeful that with the current trajectory of relationship, people-to-people contact will enhance significantly in near future,” said HE Samina Mehtab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Vietnam.

The plan will increase the bilateral turnover of Vietnam and Pakistan trade, which reached over 794 million USD in 2021, up 50.4% compared to 2020.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to Vietnam emphasized the necessity of people-to-people diplomacy and cultural exchange in the relations between the two countries.

Vietnam and Pakistan diplomats discussed the potential to improve economic and trade relations and its impacts on the ASEAN region.
