The construction is part of the project on the development of rural and tourism infrastructure in Lao Cai Province adopted by the Provincial People’s Committee in 2007.

This is the first large scale environmental project in Lao Cai Province and is expected to treat and recycle all waste from the 3 localities of Lao Cai city, Bat Xat district and Sa Pa town.

The recycled part of the waste will be used to produce fertilizer, helping to reducing the amount of buried waste and become more environmentally friendly./.
