Many Proposals to Strengthen Vietnam and Nepal People-to-people Exchanges

According to Rabindra Adhikari, Chairman of the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council, Vietnam and Nepal have a good tradition of friendship and cooperation. The Nepali people support the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence, admire and respect President Ho Chi Minh; and believe in the process of the current national construction and socio-economic development under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He said the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam - Nepal Friendship Association, and Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council play an important role in promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. To enhance people-to-people exchanges and promote trade, investment, and tourism cooperation, the two countries need to promote the opening of diplomatic representative offices and direct flights.

Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, thanked the Nepali people for their support for Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations hopes that the Nepali side will actively advocate for the establishment of the Nepal-Vietnam Friendship Association in the near future.

The two sides agreed to maintain cooperation and information exchange and continue to discuss specific activities to further strengthen people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

On the same day, the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council delegation had a working session with leaders of the Vietnam - Nepal Friendship Association.

Tran Anh Tuan, President of the Vietnam - Nepal Friendship Association, said: Many Vietnamese educational institutions want to recruit Nepali teachers to teach English. This will be one of the channels to continue promoting people-to-people exchanges. The two sides need to continue to discuss requirements, benefits, living, and working conditions to attract Nepali English teachers to work in Vietnam.

Towards the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Nepal diplomatic relations (May 15, 1975 - May 15, 2025), the Vietnam - Nepal Friendship Association plans to organize diverse commemorative activities such as publishing a Vietnamese-English special magazine, organizing international seminars on Vietnam - Nepal relations; organizing cultural and culinary exchange activities between the two countries. The Vietnam - Nepal Friendship Association hopes the Nepali side will coordinate and participate in these activities.

Rabindra Adhikari, Chairman of the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council, said: Vietnam is one of Nepal's important partners in enhancing tourism cooperation, especially religious tourism, business connections, trade, and investment promotion. As organizations that play an important role in promoting people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, the Vietnam - Nepal Friendship Association and the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council need to maintain information exchange, dialogue, and working group exchanges.

The two sides agreed to cooperate in upcoming activities; and continue to advise and promote the opening of diplomatic missions and direct flights between the two countries.
