The festival of Muong Lo Culture and Tourism and Mu Cang Chai terraced fields 2019 won the Gold Stevie Award in the category of Communications or PR Campaign of the Year. The festival took place in Nghia Lo town in the northern province of Yen Bai last September and attracted more than 20,000 participants, VNExpress reported.
Meanwhile, “Xòe” dance performance won the silver award for the Community Program of the year. "Xoe" is the largest dance among those celebrated at the event and whose main objective is to preserve and promote the traditional cultural identity of the Thai ethnic minority.

Newday Media Company, the festival’s organizer, has become the first Vietnamese media company to be given a Stevie Award.
The Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Festival 2019 will receive the prize during an online gala slated to take place on December 9th due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
