Musical Night Enhances Ties between Vietnam and Spain, Latin American Countries

The Union of Friendship Organizations of Ho Chi Minh City (HUFO) and the Friendship Club for Vietnam, Spain and Latin American countries (ECASA) held an ECASA Night 2022 on May 12.
Ecasa Night is an annual festival jointly organized by the HUFO and the club, but due to the Covid-19 outbreak worldwide, the event had to be postponed twice in 2020 and 2021.
The event was officially back in a joyful atmosphere when Covid-19 across the country has been well controlled.
Ecasa Night 2022 was attended by Timur Sadykov - Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City, Ariadne Feo Labrada - Consul General of the Republic of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, Szojka Éva Szilvia - Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City, Eva Situmorang - Consular Information and Socio-Cultural Consulate General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City; along with HUFO President Do Viet Ha, Huynh Minh Thien - former HUFO president and a large number of people from Spanish-speaking countries living in the city.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Quoc Viet, ECASA vice president highlighted the meaning of the return of ECASA night, welcoming the upcoming congress of the Union as well as serve as a premise for people-to-people exchange activities between HCM City and Spanish-speaking countries.
ECASA was established in 2017, aims to help promote cooperation in economics, culture, tourism and education between Vietnam’s individuals, organizations and businesses with their peers in Spain and other Latin American countries.
So far it has increasingly affirmed its role in the city's people-to-people diplomacy.
Along with the city's mandate, with the companion and help of HUFO, ECASA has been increasingly enhancing its role, reputation and fulfilling its mission in connecting Spanish-speaking businessmen living and working in HCM City, a bridge between business delegations or individuals to learn about the business environment and promote trade promotion exchanges between Vietnam and Spanish-speaking countries including Spain and Latin American countries.
The night brings together special cultural characteristics of Latin American countries to Vietnamese and international friends through fascinating songs and dance which created a very friendly, warm and impressive night.

The organizing committee also conducted an auction program of paintings by painter Le Dai Chuc, a talented and famous painter who has created thousands of paintings and participated in many national and international exhibitions.

Vietnam currently has trade ties with all the 33 Latin American countries. Bilateral trade rose by over 63-fold from 245 million USD in 2000 to USD 15.6 billion in 2020, including USD 8.3 billion in Vietnam’s exports. Meanwhile, Vietnam has had several investment projects worth hundreds of millions of USD in this region. Vietnam looks to raise bilateral trade with Latin American countries to about USD 20 billion by 2025 and attracts USD 12 - 13 billion in investment from the region. |
