Luu expressed his gratitude when receiving Renate Künast, Chairwoman of the Bundestag (federal parliament)’s Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with the ASEAN States, in Hanoi on February 20.
He said that the early enforcement of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) would become a driving force to intensify economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and the EU in general and Germany in particular.
Highlighting the two countries’ recent approval of a plan of action for 2020-2021, Luu affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to its strategic partnership with Germany, its leading trade partner in the EU.
The NA Vice Chairman also expected that numerous activities would be held this year to celebrate the 45th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties.
Künast spoke highly of Vietnam’s efforts to deal with the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
She expressed her belief that the bilateral relations will develop further based on the results of cooperation achieved over the past 45 years./.
